Deloitte

In 2014, Deloitte partnered with Konrad Group to design and develop internal workflow optimization tools and intranets across various parts of their business.

The systems featured were initially designed for Deloitte’s internal teams in risk management and accounting. Our team was tasked with digitally transforming processes which up to that point, had an analogue approach. As part of the engagement, our team had strict instructions to abide by Deloitte’s new brand and UI guidelines which revolved around the concept of circles.

As the digital experts, it was up to our team to create highly intuitive intranets that were scalable, as Deloitte had plans to resell these tools as a suite solution to their clients. Therefore, the challenge was not just to optimize internal team workflows but rather to introduce a scalable design system that they could build on and offer as their own.

Security Operations Center

The objective of this system was security monitoring; measuring risk and providing status reports in real-time. Deloitte was looking for a design system that could be used to measure worker/server health levels, ticketing for service operations, and emergency procedures in high-risk industries like construction, mining, and information technology.

The Solutions

As the scope of the project widened, we were given additional use-cases to digitally transform existing processes using our design system as a baseline.

Shortly thereafter, we were adding and testing different branches of the system like, Technical Library. Each of the solutions required months of deep-collaboration with Deloitte’s beta-testing team to ensure usability patterns were not heavily compromised as to disjoint an entire department.

One of my toughest challenges went beyond what we could identify, it was in codifying a process with a system that could work at scale and considering use-cases that might arise in different team settings. The process was grounded on modularity, following a wide structured I.A. that allowed each dashboard tile to contain a fountain of information.

Technical Library

Technical Library was designed for business practitioners like auditors, account managers, and subject matter specialists. Since each team worked using independent processes, there was a time-consuming email chain of miscommunication where outdated documents were being sent to clients and creating issues. Our team was tasked with solving these pain-points by designing a proprietary single source of truth for documentation and procedures which was easily accessible and had powerful searching capabilities.

PCL Construction

As PCL planned their North American expansion, I lead our team through the strategy and redesign of their Canadian and US corporate websites.
The Challenge

My team was tasked with distilling existing analytics, click-rates, and bounce rates to determine what Canada prioritized compared to the US. PCL knew exactly who they were, where they stood in both markets, and how potential clients' biased perception was affecting sales.

One of the biggest challenges was in positioning a PCL that seemed "bigger than life" in Canada, but informational and technical in the US.
